Walk upright, look strong – A conversation with Coco von Sanders Fitness and Fascia Trainer about posture, style, and high heels
Interview by Gaby Wurth, founder of GLORIELLAS
Gaby: Dear Coco, you're known not only for your keen sense of style but also for your deep knowledge of body language and presence. Your workshops are about more than fashion – they're about impact. Why do high heels play such a significant role in that?
Coco: Because they instantly change your posture – for better or worse. A good high heel lifts you up, highlights your silhouette, and gives you presence. But if the shoe is poorly constructed, the opposite happens: your posture collapses, you wobble, and you tense up. That’s why I teach my clients what really matters when it comes to wearing – and buying – high heels. This is where my background as a fitness and fascia trainer comes in: only those who truly understand and strengthen their bodies can walk in heels with elegance and long-term health.
Gaby: What are your top tips for walking elegantly and confidently in high heels?
Coco: The key is balance. Many women tend to lean forward as soon as they put on heels. But the exact opposite is important: your body weight should be centered over your feet, your pelvis slightly tilted upward, and your gaze straight ahead. In my workshops, we practice this step by step – using breathing techniques, core engagement, and of course, the right footwear. Fascia training exercises help activate deep muscle chains and release tension – which not only adds elegance but also a sense of ease to your walk.
Gaby: In your opinion, what makes a “good” high heel?
Coco: First and foremost: the fit. A high-quality shoe molds to the foot without pinching. Then the material – it needs to be flexible, breathable, and durable. Heel geometry is also crucial: a well-designed heel supports your natural movement rather than hindering it. Your GLORIELLAS are a great example – they combine aesthetics with true functionality. That’s exactly what we need if we want to use our bodies consciously – fashion and movement shouldn't be at odds.
Gaby: Thank you! We often hear from customers that they actually feel better in our high heels – not just more beautiful. What’s your experience in your trainings?
Coco: Absolutely. It’s fascinating to see how much confidence shifts when someone truly stands in their own presence for the first time. And a good high heel is a tool for that – not the star of the outfit, but an amplifier of personality. This is about more than fashion. It’s about presence. And that’s exactly where my two areas of focus meet: style and bodywork. Together, they create impact – from the inside out.

Gaby: Beautifully said. If you could give our community one final piece of advice – what would it be?
Coco: Choose heels that work for you – not against you. Pay attention to quality, comfort, and posture. Train your deep muscles, strengthen your fascia, stay flexible – and then step out: upright, intentional, and fully in tune with yourself.
Gaby: Thank you, dear Coco, for these inspiring insights and your valuable work.
